It’s been a hot minute hasn’t it?

Welcome back to Interviewed, a series of chats and discussions with creators of all kinds.

This is one of the ‘lost’ interviews, one that for various reasons never actually got published. The main reason being I had a hectic few weeks, went travelling for a while and it slipped my mind.

However, today we are joined by my friend Aftab of Fresh and Fearless, a blog focusing on luxury travel and everything London too! I’ll get straight into it.

D: Who are you and what is it you do online?

A: Hello! I’m Aftab. I’m a 24-year-old, London based luxury travel and lifestyle content creator. I travel around the world in such for the best luxury destinations, 5-star hotels, restaurants and hidden gems.

D: What about your offline life?

A: Offline I am a marketer for a global travel management company and a social media and digital marketing business owner too. Apart from that, I am also a horse rider and a Biochemistry graduate, so I do have a nerdy side too.

D: You’re a big traveller, do you have a favourite destination + somewhere you’d love to go to?

A: I am indeed. My favourite destination? Oh, that’s hard. I would have to say Canada. Canada is my favourite country in the world, it’s where the British and American culture mix, with extra warm and friendly people and some of the best food. They also get the full four seasons, so you get the best of everything really. I would love to visit a few places this year, such as Miami, Barcelona, Jordan and maybe even make it back to Vancouver in Canada.

D: What are your must-haves for travel?

A: I can’t go anywhere without my camera, portable charger, phone and my extensive amount of skincare products and a bag to check-in. Purely because I’m an over packer and I never like to not have clothing and shoe options, so hand luggage only travels is my biggest nightmare.

D: You’re a fan of luxury brands, but are there any high street or budget ones you swear by?

A: I have to say I’m a die-hard Zara fan. I could spend all day, everyday buying clothes from there.

D: You know London so well, what’s your favourite restaurant in London?

A: Well, after 5 years you would think I know it like the back of my hand, but even now I’m still finding amazing parts of London that I never knew existed. I think the same goes for the restaurant scene too, with an ever-growing number of restaurants, I’m falling in love with new ones every day. If I had to pick one restaurant out of the whole of London, I would say it is Hutong in The Shard. It serves some of the best Chinese food I have ever eaten.

D: Now to throw out some love, who are some of your favourite bloggers/creators?

A: I have a fair few, but if I had to narrow it down I would say Alice from Alis In Worldland. She’s a truly inspirational content creator, capturing the best sunsets, travels and London shots. Another huge favourite of mine is Polly from Follow Your Sunshine. Not only does she travel luxuriously, but her pictures are also utterly gorgeous and worthy of a follow. Lastly, I would say Binny from Binny’s Kitchen and Travel Diaries. For those that follow me already, you know that Binny and I aren’t far apart from each other most of the time.

D: And now for self-love, what of your own content do you love the most?

A: It’s all about self love. I would say my favourite parts is firstly capturing those spectacular moments through the lens. Those are truly special moments but then bringing them home with me after my travels and putting some words to set the scene, giving my photos the power to speak if they could.

D: Do you have any trips upcoming?

A: I have a potential trip to Paris soon but other than that not really, which is very unusual for me. I’m enjoying the time being in London at the moment, but I’m sure it won’t be long before the trips start piling up again.

Editor’s note: This was a while ago, so Aftab has produced some great travel content since.

D: What’s your Hogwarts House?

A: I would have to say Gryffindor, they seem like my kind of people.

D: What’s your favourite film?

A: My favourite film is Safe Haven, it is something about that film that gets me every time. It’s the perfect film to watch when you’re on the sofa on a Friday evening.

D: Who’s your favourite band/artist?

A: My favourite artist, I would say Sia. Her music and persona gives me all the glee and feels, time and time again.

A huge thank you to Aftab for letting me poke his brains and then not for getting mad at me for not coming through on my end for a while!
