Welcome to INTERVIEWED, a series of interviews with amazing creators of all kinds.

Today we’re joined by one of the ultimate Londoners with a blog to match, Emma Inks!

D: What is it you do online as a creator?

E: I’m a London based lifestyle blogger and YouTuber at Emma Inks. I like to share my experiences of living in London, Travel, my style and any other random thoughts I might have. Even though it’s not intentional, I am drawn to the unusual, so my content usually has an alternative twist.

D: Can you tell me a bit about the woman behind the scenes?

E: I am Scottish but have been living in East London for almost 7 years. I love adventure, black coffee, pizza and rock music. I wear a lot of black and am a bit of a weirdo.

D: What was it that got you to start creating content?

E: I have always been a creative person and needed an outlet for that energy whilst doing my 9-5 desk job. Also, people were always asking me for advice on where to travel and what to do in London so I thought it would be handy to have that information all in one place.

D: Do you have a favourite part about creating? Whether this is about the process, the community, etc.

E: I am the sort of person who needs to create, so I love seeing all the different elements coming together to create blog posts and videos. I also really enjoy the process of constantly learning. A huge unexpected plus point was meeting so many incredible people through my blog, some of my best friends are from the internet.

D: Conversely, is there anything you dislike?

E: The admin! SEO, scheduling tweets, having a content calendar, emails, and deadlines are all so boring. I just want to make cool content and connect with people.

D: Do you have a favourite memory in your ‘online career’?

E: Being nominated for Best New Blogger on the Block at the Bloggers Blog Awards last year was unbelievable to me. I have always been a bit of a lone wolf and getting this sort of recognition was a huge shock, a massive confidence boost, and was another opportunity to meet more awesome bloggers.

D: What does the future hold for Emma Inks?

E: Who knows? I am always changing and trying new things so I never quite know what direction my content is going to go in. I am about to leave my job to go full-time freelance and concentrate on my artwork so possibly more creative elements may find their way into Emma Inks. Mainly I am just excited to have more time to hopefully create better content. Despite these small changes my blog will always be a reflection of me and my life so don’t expect, rose gold and flat lays anytime soon.

D: What people, things, anything, have been influences on you and your content?

E: Travel and London are the main cornerstones of my blog and places I find endless inspiration from. The landscapes and people are fascinating and there is always an adventure round every corner. Music and film are also big influences of mine; when I was younger and living in a small town they were my places to escape to.

D: What’s your Hogwarts House?

E: Gryffindor

D: What’s your favourite film?

E: I watch a massive amount of films, and studied film analytics for three years as part of my degree, so this is a tough question.

Off the top of my head some of my go to films are: Empire Strikes Back, The Skin I Live In, Donnie Darko, Clerks, Girl Interrupted, and The Secretary.

D: Can you name a favourite musician/artist/whatever?

E: Oh no another hard one! I am rarely seen without headphones on.

Bruce Springsteen, Metallica, Lady Gaga, Marilyn Manson, The New York Dolls, Lou Reed, The Ramones, Blink-182, Jack White, Nirvana, Johnny Cash, Elvis, Black Sabbath, Motorhead, Deap Vally, Cher, Alice Cooper. I could go on and on but they are probably my most listened to.

A HUGE thank you to Emma for joining us today.
